RCCG YOUTH PASTOR SENTENCED TO DEATH!.
A shocking case has shaken the community as a Youth Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Akolade Arowolo, has been sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of his wife, Titilayo Arowolo, a banker with Skye Bank.
The Ikeja High Court, presided over by Justice Lateefat Okunu, found Arowolo guilty of the heinous crime, citing overwhelming evidence presented by the prosecution. The court heard that Titilayo suffered 76 stab wounds, and a forensic report by Prof. John Oladapo Obafunwa, a pathologist, revealed that she could not have inflicted the wounds on herself.
Arowolo's claims that his wife was possessed by an evil spirit and inflicted the wounds on herself were dismissed by the court. The prosecution presented testimony from family members, including Titilayo's father, George Oyakhire, and sister, Ijeh, who stated that the couple had a troubled marriage.
Arowolo's co-tenant, Adewale Adeyemi, testified that he heard a loud noise on the day of the incident and saw Arowolo rushing out with a deep cut in his palms. A hammer and a knife with a broken handle were found in the yard.
Arowolo's parents, Mudashiru and his wife, testified that their son was a religious person and could not have committed the crime. However, the court was not convinced, and Arowolo was sentenced to death.
The pastor broke down in tears after the judgment, claiming he was innocent. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the dangers of domestic violence and the importance of seeking help.
May justice be served, and may Titilayo's family find peace and closure.
