₦800 Million Empowerment Programme: Arogbo-Ibe Voice Publisher/CEO Commends Kestin Pondi, Advocates Media Inclusion in Future Interventions

The Publisher/CEO of Arogbo-Ibe Voice Reporters, Doctor Kegbe, has commended the business grant initiative by High Chief Kestin Pondi, describing it as a landmark empowerment programme valued at ₦800 million, approaching the ₦1 billion mark, making it one of the most impactful private-sector interventions in the history of the Niger Delta.
He noted that the initiative demonstrates a strong commitment to economic development and grassroots empowerment, benefiting 80 entrepreneurs across critical sectors including agriculture, food production, technology, fashion, logistics, and creative industries.
“This intervention is both timely and transformative. Its scale and reach clearly reflect a genuine passion for uplifting livelihoods and strengthening the economic base of the Niger Delta,” he stated.

While applauding the initiative, the Publisher respectfully observed that no media house was captured among the beneficiaries. After a careful review of the list, he noted that Ijaw media organizations were not represented, describing this as an opportunity for broader inclusion in future interventions.
He further acknowledged that High Chief Kestin Pondi, in his leadership capacity, understands the vital role of the media in shaping narratives, promoting development, and preserving the identity of the region.
“The media remains a strategic partner in development. As God continues to open greater doors and expand this noble initiative, we respectfully urge that media organizations within the Niger Delta be considered in subsequent empowerment programmes. Their inclusion will further strengthen communication, visibility, and the overall impact of such interventions,” he added.
