Today, May 30, 2026, the Meinbutu leadership and chairmen of various communities in Warri South LGA unanimously resolved that the tenure of the two factional chairman and president of Meinbutu Federated Communities has officially ended. The affected leaders are:
1. Comr. Denco Moni
2. Chief Amakiye Ekaye
The communities agreed that their tenure is over. A date for the selection of an Electoral Committee, ELECO, to conduct elections for a new executive will be announced to the public in due course.

The leadership further resolved to constitute an ELECO that will conduct a credible election so Meinbutu Federated Community can have a new, elected government to oversee the affairs of the Ijaw communities in Warri South LGA.
