Warri Federal Constituency Delineation: Ogbinbiri Federated Women Salute Egbema Leaders for Historic Victory
The Ogbinbiri Federated Women have commended the leadership of Egbema Kingdom and all stakeholders for their commitment and sacrifices that contributed to the successful conclusion of the Supreme Court-ordered polling units, ward and constituency delineation exercise in the Warri Federal Constituency.
Speaking on behalf of the women, the National Women Leader of the Ogbinbiri Federated Women, Comrade Mrs. Margaret Ikinbor, described the outcome of the delineation exercise as a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice, equity, and fair political representation for the people of Egbema Kingdom and the wider Ijaw nation.
She noted that the approval of additional wards, polling units, constituencies in Warri North and Warri South-West Local Government Areas, as well as improved representation within the Warri Federal Constituency, reflects the resilience and determination of the people who stood firmly for justice.
According to her, although the struggle lasted for many years, the outcome demonstrates that justice may be delayed but cannot be denied. She recalled that the people of Egbema Kingdom had endured years of political marginalization despite their population, economic contributions, and abundant natural resources.
Mrs. Ikinbor further stated that Egbema people had suffered political exclusion in the administration of Warri North Local Government Area, noting that since the creation of the council, an Egbema son had only once emerged as council chairman and had briefly served as Commissioner for Special Duties, despite the kingdom's strategic importance to Delta State and the nation's oil and gas industry.
She praised the courage and determination displayed by Egbema leaders, women, youths, and community members who peacefully mobilized, organized protests, and advocated for justice throughout the delineation process.
The women leader specifically appreciated the contributions of Elder Edmond Tiemo Egbema leader of thought, Hon. Dr. Joel Bisina, Hon. Emmanuel Omoko (Alhaji), Chief David Reje Imole, Amb. Jude Ikori, Hon. Spencer Okubo Okpoye, Chief Ebipatei Kari, Chief Promise Lawuru, Chief Pastor Thomas Tikilikiwei, Hon. Sunny Abilo, Chief Marshall Ekpe, Mr. Moses kaka, and many other leaders whose dedication and sacrifices helped sustain the struggle until its successful conclusion.
She also expressed gratitude to the Egbema media teams, youth organizations, community associations, women groups, and all supporters who worked tirelessly from the beginning to the end of the exercise, ensuring that the voices of the people were heard.
Mrs. Ikinbor called on all sons and daughters of Egbema Kingdom to remain united, peaceful, and committed to protecting the gains achieved through the delineation exercise, stating that unity remains the foundation for greater political and socio-economic advancement.
Signed:
Comrade Mrs. Margaret Ikinbor
National Women Leader,
Ogbinbiri Federated Women
