ELECTION DAY SPEECH – IPF TREASURER CONTEST___ MINGO FRIDAY,
By EgbemaVoice,
Distinguished leaders of the Ijaw Publishers Forum, Respected elders, comrades, colleagues, and fellow publishers,
I greet you all.
With humility and a deep sense of responsibility, I stand before you today as Comrade Mingo T. Friday, a grassroots member and contestant for the position of Treasurer of our great Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF).
The Ijaw Publishers Forum was founded for a clear and historic purpose:
to document, preserve, and project the true history, culture, struggles, and aspirations of the Ijaw people.
IPF is not just an association—it is the professional press house and collective voice of the Ijaw nation.
For years, IPF has stood for truth, responsible journalism, and accurate documentation of our story. As a committed and founding member, I have upheld these ideals, and I firmly believe that for this vision to endure, financial integrity, transparency, and accountability must be our foundation.
Distinguished comrades,
the office of Treasurer is not ceremonial. It is a position of trust. It is the backbone of institutional stability. If elected, I make this solemn pledge to you today:
First, Transparency and Accountability.
I will ensure proper financial records, regular reporting, and openness in all financial dealings, strictly guided by the IPF constitution.
Second, Prudent Financial Management.
Every naira entrusted to IPF will be managed with discipline and foresight, used strictly for approved programs and the growth of our forum.
Third, Proper Documentation and Record-Keeping.
I will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all income, expenditures, and financial obligations to guarantee continuity and institutional memory.
Fourth, Institutional Growth and Sustainability.
I will work closely with the leadership to strengthen our financial structures and explore lawful, sustainable funding opportunities to move IPF forward.
And finally, Inclusive and Responsible Service.
I will represent the interest of all members—especially grassroots publishers—serving with fairness, diligence, and loyalty to our collective vision.
Comrades,
I am fully prepared to serve IPF with integrity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment. I respectfully ask for your support, confidence, and votes, so that together we can strengthen the financial stability and future of our forum.
Let us continue to tell the Ijaw story with truth, responsibility, and pride.
Thank you, and God bless the Ijaw Publishers Forum.
God bless the Ijaw nation.
Comrade Mingo T. Friday
