The Electoral Committee of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) has officially declared the results of its just-concluded presidential election held at Ijaw House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

According to the final figures released, High Chief MacDonald Igbadiwei secured a decisive victory with a total of 317 votes, emerging ahead of other contenders in the race.

Prof. Franklin Osaisai – 162 votes
Engr. Ebipamowei Wodu – 53 votes
Chief T.K. Ogoriba – 11 votes
Chief Nengi James – 4 votes
Rear Admiral Woyenidikpete Geoffrey Yenga – 1 vote
With this outcome, High Chief MacDonald Igbadiwei has been duly elected as the new President of the apex Ijaw socio-cultural body.

The election process, which attracted delegates from various zones across the Niger Delta, was conducted under the supervision of the electoral committee, with key stakeholders closely monitoring proceedings to ensure transparency, fairness, and credibility.

His emergence is widely seen as a defining moment for the Ijaw nation, signaling renewed hope for unity, purposeful leadership, and progressive advancement under the platform of the INC.
