The people of Ajakurama Town, in Egbema Kingdom, Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State, formally announce the final burial rites of two distinguished sons and revered icons of the community, Late Owasani Jacob Ogidigba Brasana and Late Derek Ogidigba Brasana, whose legacies remain deeply etched in the history and development of Ajakurama.
Late Owasani Jacob Ogidigba Brasana was one of Ajakurama’s foremost early graduates and a pride of Egbema Kingdom. He graduated from the prestigious University of Ibadan in 1967, marking a remarkable academic milestone at a time when higher education was a rare achievement. He was widely celebrated as one of Nigeria’s finest football commentators, admired for his eloquence, brilliance, and passion for sports broadcasting. He passed on in 1970 and is survived by his beloved daughter, Tinate Feke, alongside grandchildren and extended family members.
Late Derek Ogidigba Brasana, also a prominent son of Ajakurama, was a respected businessman known for his thriving commercial engagements and international trade ventures with Cameroon. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence earned him admiration across communities. Sadly, during one of his business trips, he never returned. He is survived by four children and a loving family determined to preserve his enduring legacy.
As part of activities to celebrate and honour the lives of these illustrious sons, a joint wake-keeping ceremony will be held on Saturday, 6th June 2026, at the Ogidigba Brasana Family Compound, Ajakurama Town.
This solemn occasion will provide an opportunity for family members, friends, well-wishers, and the entire Ajakurama community to pay their final respects and celebrate the impactful lives of two great men whose contributions continue to inspire generations.
The Ajakurama community calls on sons and daughters of Egbema Kingdom, friends, associates, and the general public to join the Ogidigba Brasana family in giving these worthy icons a befitting farewell.
May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace.
