Warri, Delta State — There are reports of heavy gunfire around the Jakpa Junction–Refinery Junction axis of Warri, with residents and motorists reportedly fleeing the area for safety.

According to preliminary eyewitness reports, gunfire is being heard from both sides of the affected community, causing panic among commuters and residents in the area.

People are reportedly running for their lives, while motorists are being advised to avoid the affected axis until the situation becomes clear.

Residents and commuters are urged to remain calm, avoid the area and seek shelter in safe locations.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the identities of those involved and whether there are casualties, have not been independently confirmed at the time of this report.

The students took off from Abuja and arrived in London on Friday. They are among the150 beneficiaries that underwent a pre-departure orientation in August following their deployment by the PAP Administrator, Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro.
