Niger Delta youth leader, Comrade Mingo Meshach Sayami Ogumaka, has expressed profound appreciation to High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, GOC (JP), for his tremendous support towards the successful burial ceremony of the late icon, His Eminence Archbishop Dr. Saint Prophet Lucky Amakporowei Kenrenkenrenwei, the Ogeja King.
Comrade Mingo, speaking on behalf of Ajakurama and its communities, as well as concerned sons and daughters of Egbema Kingdom, commended Tompolo for standing firmly with the family, Awanba community, Ajakurama Clan and Egbema Kingdom from the time of the Ogeja King’s transition until the completion of his final burial rites.
According to him, Tompolo’s intervention and continuous assistance contributed significantly to giving the departed Ogeja King a befitting and dignified farewell.
On behalf of Ajakurama and her communities, and all concerned, I sincerely appreciate our Ijaw leader, the Niger Delta giant and GOC, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for his immense support towards giving our father a befitting burial.
“From the day of his departure from this world, Tompolo provided the necessary assistance to the bereaved family, Awanba Community, Ajakurama Clan and Egbema Kingdom, and remained supportive until the final day of his burial.
Indeed, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, you have demonstrated that you are a true kinsman, brother and friend of Ajakurama and Egbema Kingdom. Your gesture has written your name in the hearts of our people.
Comrade Mingo further prayed for divine blessings, protection and continued favour upon Tompolo, describing his support as a demonstration of Ijaw brotherhood, compassion and unity.
He prayed that the land of Egbema Kingdom would continue to favour him, while the Egbesu spirit of Egbema would bless and protect him. He also invoked the traditional blessings associated with the three sacred waters of Ajakurama—Afurefure, Okubakubu and Otuwo—for continued favour, strength and prosperity.
He concluded by describing Tompolo’s support during the Ogeja King’s final journey as a gesture that would remain deeply appreciated and remembered by the people of Ajakurama, Awanba and Egbema Kingdom.
