We have no party registration application before us, says INEC,

By EgbemaVoice, No group has applied for registration as a political party, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said. The electoral umpire insists that associations seeking to be registered as political parties must follow laid-down guidelines and abide by the legal and administrative requirements for registration. Admitting that over 100 associations are in the queue, the commission said none of them has submitted a formal application to it yet. National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, told The Nation that what INEC has received so far are letters of intent and not formal applications. The media space has been awash with the request by the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) for registration as a political party ahead of the 2027 elections. Civil Service Week continues today,

As Civil Service Week continues today, there are growing concerns about attitudes to work in the civil service, which is the engine room of government operations.  Civil Service Week, which runs from 20th to 28th June, is an annual event to celebrate and recognise the contributions of civil servants. But from delayed responses to critical files to a general air of impassivity in public institutions, critics say the workforce meant to uphold the effectiveness of government programmes is increasingly disengaged. Our correspondent, who visited the State and Federal Secretariat in Rivers State last week, observed that at 2:30pm, several offices were already locked, despite official working hours ending at 4pm.  While some attribute it to poor welfare, inadequate supervision, and systemic inefficiencies, others point to a deeper erosion of purpose, accountability, and motivation within public service. But some civil servants say their workdays are stressful, burdened by...

America Has Bombed Iran’s Nuclear Sites — What Will Happen Next?

The news is everywhere. America has finally bombed Iran’s nuclear sites. The whole world is silent, waiting to see what happens next. But this is no small matter. This action will shake the whole world. Let’s think about it. 1. Iran Will Surely Fight Back Iran is angry. They will not keep quiet. This is not the end — this may just be the beginning of something bigger. Iran may attack American soldiers in Iraq, Syria, or other Middle Eastern countries. They may also target Israel or Saudi Arabia, who are friends of America. Many people in those places are afraid. No one knows where the next bomb or missile will land. 2. Oil Prices Will Go Up Iran is close to the Strait of Hormuz — the place where much of the world’s oil passes through. If there is war, Iran may block this route. Ships will not be able to carry oil freely. When this happens, the price of fuel will rise everywhere — in America, Europe, Africa, Asia — no country will be free from this pain. Transpor...

The Fordo uranium enrichment site, located deep in a mountainside south of Tehran, is considered a central component of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Israel vs Iran: What Imam Hassen Chalghoumi Wrote About Israel,

By EgbemaVoice, I, a son of Ishmael, an imam, a Muslim, a man of peace, hereby present my sincere testimony about this extraordinary people: I must admit, I believe in religions and miracles. But there is something about this people — the people of Israel — that feels like a living miracle. A people the Pharaohs tried to erase 3,000 years ago… and failed. A people the Babylonians tried to annihilate 2,500 years ago… and failed. A people the Romans tried to wipe out 2,000 years ago… and failed. A people the Nazis tried to exterminate 80 years ago… and failed to erase. A people the Arabs fought in five wars to wipe off the map… and failed. This is a small nation in number, but with a unique strength — a divine blessing. Wherever it lays its hand, it succeeds: in finance, commerce, science, philosophy, literature… A desert land turned into a paradise, without oil or gas, but with liberty, democracy, intelligence, and determination. This is a people who gave the world Einstein,...
