The leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme Scholarship Students Worldwide (NAPAS), under the leadership of its President, Comrade Johnny Ebimene, has officially withdrawn the proposed world press conference earlier scheduled for May 20, 2026.
According to the student body, the decision followed appeals and interventions from respected leaders across the Niger Delta region regarding issues affecting the welfare of students under the Presidential Amnesty Programme scholarship scheme.
Speaking on behalf of the organization, Comrade Johnny Ebimene stated that the planned world press conference had been suspended in consideration of ongoing engagements and assurances from the Amnesty Office.
He further disclosed that the Presidential Amnesty Office has pledged to prioritize the welfare of scholarship students in order to sustain the core goals and objectives of the programme.
The NAPAS President therefore urged all students under the Presidential Amnesty Programme worldwide to remain steadfast, patient, and optimistic, assuring them that the office is making necessary efforts to address concerns affecting beneficiaries of the scheme.
