The Councillor representing Ward 20 in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Hossanah Perepate Fetimi, has empowered 200 constituents as part of efforts to provide direct economic support and strengthen the well-being of residents at the grassroots.

The empowerment programme, held at Okifamba, attracted beneficiaries and residents from across the ward, who gathered to receive the cash support. The atmosphere was marked by excitement and appreciation as beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative.
According to Hon. Fetimi, the empowerment programme is being implemented in line with the development-oriented vision of the Delta State Government under His Excellency Governor Elder Rt Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, with the Councillor serving as a direct representative and link between the grassroots and government.

The initiative is consistent with the administration's broader M.O.R.E. Agenda, which identifies opportunities for citizens, meaningful development, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security as key areas of focus.

Hon. Fetimi noted that grassroots representation should go beyond political office and include practical interventions that touch the lives of ordinary people, particularly through initiatives capable of supporting livelihoods and reducing economic hardship.

He said the empowerment exercise demonstrates his commitment to maintaining close contact with his constituents and ensuring that the people of Ward 20 benefit from programmes designed to improve their socio-economic well-being.

Speaking during the event, beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Councillor for remembering them and bringing the empowerment programme directly to the ward.

The beneficiaries described the intervention as timely and impactful, stressing that the financial assistance would help recipients support their various small-scale businesses, household needs and sources of livelihood.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Hossanah Perepate Fetimi also urged his constituents and supporters to remain committed to the political platform and candidates he supports ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He appealed to the people of Ward 20 to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for Governor of Delta State, High Chief Ebipade Kari for the Delta State House of Assembly seat representing Warri North Constituency II, as well as other candidates of the party.

Hon. Fetimi maintained that sustained support for the administration and its political representatives, in his view, would help strengthen the connection between government programmes and grassroots communities.

The empowerment programme at Okufamba therefore ended on a note of appreciation, with beneficiaries and community members commending the Councillor for bringing the intervention directly to the people of Ward 20.

The event further highlighted the importance of grassroots representation, community engagement and empowerment initiatives in addressing the immediate economic needs of constituents. He stated,
