By EgbemaVoice, The former governor of Kano State , Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has warned that border communities in Kano are increasingly under attack from bandits coming from neighbouring Katsina State. Kwankwaso made the remarks on Saturday during the 4th Convocation Ceremony of Skyline University, where he expressed concern over the rising insecurity in the state’s border areas. Kwankwaso who is also the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) stated that Kano State had remained secure until recently, but local government areas along the Katsina border including Shanono, Bagwai, and Tsanyawa are now facing attacks from bandits originating from Katsina. He alleged that the criminals routinely cross into Kano to commit crimes before retreating back to Katsina. “These bandits come from local government areas in Katsina, enter Kano to commit crime, and then return to Katsina.” According to him, this has to stop.
