APC REPS PRIMARIES: Oborevwori, Onyeme, Vote, Hail Peaceful Conduct Across Delta

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary elections across the state, describing the exercise as a strong reflection of the unity, transparency and growing strength of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote in his Ward, Okpe Local Government Area during the Okpe/Sapele/Ughelli Federal Constituency primary, Governor Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the level of participation and the calm atmosphere that characterised the exercise.

“You can see the peaceful manner in which the primary election for the House of Representatives in the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency was conducted. The people are happy, united and satisfied with the process,” he stated.
Governor Oborevwori noted that the large turnout of party members demonstrated the growing acceptance of the APC across the constituency and Delta State as a whole. He expressed confidence that the same spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence displayed during the primaries across the state, would be sustained during the general elections.

“I want to thank everyone who came out to participate in this primary election. Their presence and commitment show the strength and unity of our party. This demonstrates clearly that we have dedicated members who are ready to work for the success of the party in 2027,” he added.
Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Chief Bernard Jagboro and Hon. Madis Emerorota, agents to Hon. Ramson Onoyake and Mr. Odiate Obaro Emmanuel respectively, commended the party leadership for ensuring a free, fair and transparent process.

They particularly praised Governor Oborevwori for providing a level playing field for all aspirants and appreciated party faithful for their peaceful participation during the exercise.

Hon Ramson Onoyake was declared winner in the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency by the returning officer, Mr Charles Aniagwu. 

In Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, lauded the APC’s adoption of the Option A4 voting system during the Onicha-Ukwuani primary election.

Addressing journalists after casting his vote in his Ward, Onicha-Ukwuani, Onyeme described Option A4 as the best form of election because it promotes transparency, openness and accountability.

“If one wants to be truthful, this is the best form of election. Option A4 is the best for our country because secret balloting comes with a lot of deceit,” he said. He praised the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state. 

In Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Hon Nnamdi Ezechi was declared winner.

In Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, the exercise was also peaceful. Chairman of the National Assembly Primaries Committee for Delta State, Rt. Hon. Eugene Odo who spoke to newsmen after monitoring the exercise, commended members of the party for the peaceful conduct of the House of Representatives primaries across the state, describing the exercise as orderly and transparent.

Odo said the committee had monitored the exercise in several parts of the state and observed that the primaries were progressing smoothly without any form of violence or disruption.

According to him, the adoption of direct primaries by the party ensured a bottom-up democratic process beginning from the ward level through local governments and up to the federal constituency collation centres.

Odo said: “This is an actual public meeting and we have gone to some places to monitor the House of Representatives primaries in Delta State. So far, we have found that the primaries are going on peacefully. You can see that the collation process is going on peacefully. 

The committee chairman praised party members for their orderly conduct throughout the exercise, stating that there had been no reports of violence or infractions from the areas visited.

Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu was declared winner of the election in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency by the Returning Officer, Mr. Val Arenyeka after collation of results at the constituency collation centre in Oshimili South Local Government Council secretariat.

Speaking to newsmen after being declared winner of the primaries, Rt. Hon. Elumelu described his emergence as a collective victory for the people of Aniocha/Oshimili, pledging to usher in a new era of impactful representation at the House of Representatives.

In Ethiope Federal Constituency, where the exercise was also orderly across all the wards in the constituency, Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Sueni was declared winner. 

In Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency, the APC also conducted its primary election peacefully across various wards in line with the Electoral Act.

Party members from different wards in Bomadi Local Government Area were seen arriving early at their polling centres to participate in the exercise. Many party faithful expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the primary, commending the APC for instituting a process that ensured peace and transparency.

At Kpakiama Ward Two in Bomadi Local Government Area, the Council Chairman, Hon. Dagidi Andaye, participated in the exercise and commended party faithful for the peaceful atmosphere witnessed during the election.

He attributed the peaceful conduct to the leadership style and developmental strides of Governor Oborevwori, especially the even distribution of infrastructure projects across Delta State.

In Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, the exercise was also peaceful and orderly. At Afiesere Primary School, venue for the Ughelli Ward 3 exercise, voting commenced around 11:00 a.m. 

Party stakeholders, including Ughelli North Local Government party Chairman, Comrade Lucky Ofomukoro, commended the transparency of the process and described the election as a genuine demonstration of democratic principles within the APC.

Hon Ejiro Waive was declared winner of the primary election in Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency. 

In Isoko Federal Constituency, incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, emerged victorious after defeating his challenger, Hon. Dickson Ebegbare. Ukodhiko was subsequently declared winner by the returning officer.

The APC also conducted its Warri Federal Constituency primary election peacefully across the constituency. 

The exercise witnessed large turnout of party members across the constituency. Stakeholders who spoke during the exercise, including Warri South Local Government Council Chairman, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, the APC Chairman in Warri South, Comrade Richard Pessu, and Chief Amah Agbajor, praised President Bola Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for ensuring a level playing field for all aspirants.

In Ika Federal Constituency, APC leaders hailed the massive turnout of party members during the House of Representatives primary election, describing it as a clear indication of support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 elections.

Mr. Emmanuel Osazuwa was eventually declared winner of the Ika Federal Constituency primary election.

Also, Hon Julius Pondi was declared winner of the primary election in Burutu Federal Constituency. The exercise was also peaceful in the area.
