A MESSAGE OF PEACE, UNITY, AND RESPONSIBILITY TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF AROGBO
By EgbemaVoice,
My dear people of Arogbo—our respected elders, fathers, mothers, youths, brothers, sisters, and grandparents—I write this message with a sincere heart and deep concern for the peace, unity, and dignity of our community.
I am not a politician, nor am I speaking from the position of supporting any particular individual or political interest. However, there comes a time when conscience, fairness, and genuine love for one’s people demand that we speak with wisdom, sincerity, and courage.
Political differences should never become a reason for hatred, insults, mockery, bitterness, or coordinated attacks against one another. We may hold different opinions, support different interests, and stand on different sides of political conversations, but maturity and humanity require that we disagree with respect, restraint, and understanding.
Elections are temporary, but our relationships as one people are permanent.
Long after every political contest has ended, we will still live together, worship together, attend the same ceremonies, bury our loved ones together, celebrate together, and continue building the future of our land together. No election should divide us beyond repair or plant seeds of bitterness among brothers and sisters of the same community.
I do not believe in seeing what is wrong and calling it right simply because of emotions, personal interests, or political alignment. Silence in the face of unfairness only deepens division and weakens the spirit of unity that our forefathers worked hard to preserve.
This situation reminds me of the biblical account where people gathered to condemn a woman, and Jesus said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” One after another, they all dropped their stones and walked away in silence. The lesson remains powerful even today: none of us is perfect, and none of us should assume the position of judge, destroyer, or enemy against another human being.
Every individual deserves the right to express opinions, support choices, and participate peacefully without intimidation, ridicule, hostility, or public humiliation. Politics must never take away our humanity.
I therefore appeal to everyone, especially our youths, to remain calm, respectful, and responsible in both words and actions. Let our political engagements reflect wisdom, maturity, and discipline. Let every platform be used to encourage constructive dialogue, understanding, unity, and healthy democratic participation—not hatred, insults, or division.
History will remember not only the elections we participated in, but also the manner in which we treated one another during difficult moments.
May we never allow politics to destroy the bonds of brotherhood that hold our people together.
Above all, may peace, wisdom, understanding, and unity continue to guide the good people of Arogbo today and always.
With respect and sincere concern,
Doctor Kegbe Snr
