Foreign Media Training: Niger Delta Media Executives Appreciate Otuaro, Pledge to Be Good Ambassadors,

By EgbemaVoice

Niger Delta media executives and practitioners participating in an international media training programme in Doha, Qatar, have commended the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, for providing them with the opportunity to acquire modern skills and techniques to advance their careers and strengthen journalism practice in the region.

About 15 media executives from across the Niger Delta were reportedly deployed to the Al Jazeera Media Institute in Doha, Qatar, on Friday, September 4, 2026, for an intensive training programme focused on “Effective Communication, Persuasion and Brands Reputation Management in the Digital Age.”

Speaking on behalf of the participating media executives, President of the Ijaw Publishers Forum, IPF, Comrade Austin Ozobo, described the initiative as a rare privilege and a significant investment in the development of the Niger Delta media industry.

Ozobo said the beneficiaries were determined to uphold the confidence reposed in them by Otuaro by conducting themselves responsibly and serving as good ambassadors of the Niger Delta throughout and after the training.

According to him, the initiative represents a major step towards repositioning the region’s media industry to meet global standards while equipping media managers and practitioners with the knowledge required to tackle misinformation, enhance effective communication and manage the reputation of news brands in the digital era.

He also called on Niger Delta leaders, critical stakeholders and beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme to continue supporting Otuaro’s reforms and vision, particularly his efforts to build the capacity of young people and strengthen sustainable development across the region.

“God bless Dr. Otuaro, the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, for availing the opportunity to the Niger Delta media executives and practitioners to modern techniques of accurate, timely, objective and balanced news reportage,” Ozobo said.

The media executives further noted that Otuaro had consistently emphasised the importance of a well-informed and professionally equipped media in sustaining peace, promoting societal development and advancing the reintegration objectives of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Meanwhile, the Al Jazeera Media Institute, based in Doha, Qatar, is internationally recognised for providing professional training to journalists and media practitioners, with programmes covering contemporary journalism, digital media, communication and other aspects of modern media practice.
