OBA AMA people are not from Benin.

According to the history I have been told, the progenitor and founder of the Oba Ama community was Sokobe. Sokobe was one of the founding fathers of Ambeme Biri, and he was from Amasoma in present day Bayelsa State.

So, before people conclude that Oba Ama originated from Benin, let us properly examine the history and the sources behind such claims. History should be based on facts, oral traditions, and credible records not assumptions.

If there are elders or historians who have a different account, please share the evidence and enlighten us. We are asking because we genuinely want to know and preserve the correct history of our people.
